Design Essential: Rugs

Rugs are one of our favorite items to shop for! They’re a beautiful way to add color, character, texture and style to any/every room. You can easily update and transform a room just by adding a great rug! Whether you have a brand new home or you’re trying to give an outdated space a facelift, a rugs are must-haves in our book. A room without a rug is like forgetting to put pants on—you’re missing something important! Maybe a better analogy is trying to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the bread. Your sandwich won’t be complete or finished without one of the main ingredients needed.

Bad analogies aside, rugs are something worth investing in but you don’t have to break the bank to get a good rug. While you might be tempted to get a $300 8x10 rug from an online discount website, that rug isn’t going to hold up well over time, your kids and pets will ruin it, it won’t be stain resistant and it will probably shed like crazy. You also don’t have to spend $9,000 on a rug that you’re too afraid to even step on because it was so expensive. With rugs, it’s easy to find a happy medium and get a great quality rug that will withstand kids/pets/spills/stains and take your space from blah to beautiful without costing you a fortune.
