Guest Bedroom Design
Is it time to give your guest bedroom a refresh? Guest bedrooms are often forgotten about but it’s great to have some easy basics in there to create a cozy, welcoming room for anyone visiting! Whether you’re looking ahead at summer entertaining, are hosting family unexpectedly or you have a college-age kiddo coming home early, this easy guest bedroom style works in any home for any size room!
Here are some guest bedroom styling tips:
Don’t be afraid to use white bedding! White bedding is not only so pretty and great in any style of room, but it’s also extremely easy to keep clean. Just use good ol’ bleach or Oxyclean! We promise it’s much more low maintenance than you think.
Neutral colors keep the room feeling peaceful and warm, we like the vibe to be simple and again, cozy. Bright colors or bold patterns can feel overwhelming to guests!
Have some thoughtful pieces like coat hooks for hanging jackets or towels and a luggage rack for your guests to put their bag on.
A small tray with a candle, greenery and some magazines or bottled water and chocolate is a great touch and shows you’re the hostess with the mostess!
Have a few different layers on your bed. Some people like a fluffy comforter, some like a quilt, some need a throw blanket. Invest in some different pieces to give your guests options and ensure they will sleep soundly.
Keep your furniture pieces small if the room is small. A slender side table is great and you might only need one. Same goes for lamps! Guest rooms are often smaller spaces and bulky furniture will make the room feel cramped and crowded.
Some curtains are always a nice, cozy touch! Keep it simple with some airy linen ones and maybe add a blackout liner to keep the room dark for easy sleeping.
Have the wifi password written down and framed for easy connectivity!
These tips work for any guest room, no matter if your home is modern, farmhouse, traditional or mid-century modern style! Scroll down to shop all the items shown in this photo from our Giddings Farmhouse Project.
